EEM First Aid— Ileocecal Valve Explained

In the column last week you learned how to fix stomach upset with the Ileocecal valve. So what is it and what does it do? The valve rhythmically opens and shuts to process waste from food, hormones and chemicals that continually move through the bloodstream. If the valve’s rhythm is imbalanced, more significant health problems may present—since the toxins are backing up into the body’s systems. EEM First Aid—Digestive Rumbles Resolved –Part II

Care for Your Eyes with the Tibetan Eye Chart

Over the last several weeks you have learned Daily Exercises to improve your vision. The last exercise is to use the eye chart, which I keep in our bathroom so when I am seated on the toilet (dealing with the reality of life), I can just pick it up and use it. Plus by having it there, it reminds me to use it! The Tibetan Eye Chart is specifically designed to strengthen the muscles that control your eyes and activating the energies associated with vision. The chart is shown below (and is provided courtesy of Innersource, the non-profit foundation for Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine—it is copyrighted). I have found that sometimes clients or students get headaches from doing this exercise if they do the entire chart the first time. If your eyes are tired or you have eye issues, go slowly, as suggested below.

INSERT CHART HERE.

1. Hold the chart 4 to 6 inches from your nose. (As an aside, if you post the chart on the wall, you will be able to stand in front of it and then move back about 3 feet and repeat the same pattern. However. I have found it easier to use by holding it in my hand and then holding it at arm’s length and repeating the process.) Begin in a clockwise direction. Start at the red dot in the middle, and with your eyes trace around the edges of the irregularly shaped spokes (the ones with blocks off each side), then circle the black dot at the top of the spoke continuing to the next spoke until you have traced the entire chart. Now reverse and go counter-clockwise. If this is too much for you, start with the straight spokes only (and ignore the spokes with the 6 divots on the side). As the muscles become comfortable increase to include all the spokes.

Learn the Daily Eye Exercises to Support the Eyes-Part II

Over the last several weeks you have learned exercises that are part of the daily eye exercise routine. Today you will learn the rest of these exercises so you too will find the wonderful pleasure of improving and enhancing your vision and eye health. I hope to see you in the gym using these exercises!

1. Make 10 figure 8s around the eyes. Just like a mask. With your eyes open, use both hands side by side with little fingers touching and the palms facing the face as you make figure 8s around your eyes as if wearing a mask. Start at the nose, circle the right eye then back to the nose and circle the left eye. Now go in the opposite direction. Then take both hands and start about 12 inches from your eyes and make figure 8s that move toward the eyes and then back out 12 inches to the starting point. Do this about 6-8 times.

2. Thump your K-27 points and do the Crown Pull (part of the 5 Minute Routine). See prior columns for details if this is not familiar to you.

Learn the Daily Eye Exercises to Support the Eyes

Last week we learned that the liver, kidney and stomach meridians govern our eye health and how each is associated with our eyes. During a recent workshop on the eyes, I was asked how much time it takes to do all these exercises. Literally if you do the 5 minute routine regularly, it only takes 5 minutes after you have learned it. It takes about 5 minutes to do the eye exercises—so that is a total of 10 minutes per day to begin to see shifts. However, it will take longer when you first start to do these exercises, because they are new! Then I was asked, but is it worth it? The student who improved her vision in 4 months got a free eye exam when she was told she needed a stronger prescription. Being a tenacious woman, she stated if she improved her eyesight in 4 months with energy exercises, he would t provide a free exam. Protect Your Eyes & Eye-sight with EEM-PartII

One of my students from Texas reported that her eye sight improved markedly, per her optometrist, within 4 months, after doing the daily eye exercises…. Let’s learn why!

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, the eyes are governed by the Liver, Kidney and Stomach meridians. The liver is the “Commander of our blood” and thus nourishes our eyes. Our kidneys provide the filtered fluid for which the bulk of the eyeball itself is composed and the stomach meridian surrounds the eyes entirely (which meridian starts right under the eye, travels down the cheekbone and then up around the top of the forehead and back down through the middle of the eye). Safeguarding Your Breasts- Part 1

In our culture, essentially we are reactive to caring for our breasts. Women are taught to check for lumps when showering or have a mammogram or do thermography (my personal preference). For men, there is little suggested to protect their breasts yet breast cancer is increasing for both sexes exponentially. With knowledge of our anatomy and the impact of moving energy through our systems we can learn proactive methods to create and maintain healthy breasts. With regular self-care, you can help prevent problems before they advance.

As learned from prior articles, our body does not have a pump to move the lymph through our system so we are reliant on motion to move the toxins from our lymph system; thus the Neurolymphatic massage and spinal flush tools. Many women don’t realize that wearing tight bras or bras with plastic or wire underwire clog the lymphatic’s under the breasts creating an energetic blockage. Tool 1. Under the right breast are liver points and under the left breast are the stomach reflex points. They are shaped as a half moon, following the contours of the underwire of a bra. Make a fist and use your knuckles to rub along these points after removing your bra or as part of the 5 Minute Routine. If sore, you know your body needs the rub. Spend 15 to 20 seconds rubbing. Several times a day is beneficial if you wear an underwire or tight bra.

Tool 2. To access the circulation-sex reflex points under both breasts, place the thumbs under the breast and lift the breast until the thumb is behind your nipples. Remember that if sore, you are assisting your body by removing the toxins from these points. Rub for 15 – 20 seconds

Do you do daily eye exercises? Do you really pay much attention to your eyesight unless you have an eye issue or you attend your annual or bi-annual eye exam? No? Why not—we realize the importance of exercise for our body and mind; but the “Windows to our World get neglected. Yet, historically in Japan, school students were encouraged to take breaks throughout the day to “palm” their eyes to provide renewed vigor, rest and oxygen to these precious resources….. After all, what would life be like without our ability to see the aqua water or gorgeous wildlife by which we are surrounded?

For the next several columns, techniques to improve and balance your eyesight, strengthen your eyes and enhance your vision are reviewed.
