No relationship is free of turmoil.               Today, learn a great technique to stop the cycle. Donna Eden and David Feinstein just published a book this September, titled “Energies of Love”. You will learn more of this book next week. However, before this book, they both lectured extensively on creating a loving energetic connection when the relationship runs aground. My husband and I have found one technique very effective and use it regularly.  After the “you did” starts, we take a break, call time out and do the following:

  1. Each partner turns away from the other and comes home to themselves. A good way to do this is to place both hands on your heart, close the eyes and find center inside. Hold this space for several breaths.
  2. Check in with your partner and see if they are ready to connect
  3. When ready, face each other with hearts across from one another. Each places their left hand on their own heart and with the right hand reaches out to the other placing the right hand on the other’s hand over his/her heart. You are now linked.
  4. When ready, raise your eyes to meet your partner and hold the gaze until you each take a deep breath.

What did we learn last week that just happened? We just released the “love hormone” oxytocin; activated the solar plexus chakra (which stimulates the thymus gland and thus boost the immune system too); and helped balance the nervous system.  Happy Valentine’s Day!  Oh, it works with anyone, your kids, friends, family…..

Because this Yang meridian of Small Intestine needs to make all the decisions of what to ingest into our bodies or what to let go, it is a very powerful meridian. So, if you have trouble making decisions and feel stuck, tracing Small Intestine will help. Other times to trace this meridian might include: fever &night sweats; headaches; wrist pain; abdominal pain; beer belly; ear problems; heart disorders (its paired Yin meridian is Heart); knee pain; weak legs; shoulder pain; tinnitus; trigeminal nerve problems or feelings of hysteria.

Meridian Flow Wheel Time of day. Small Intestine meridian’s high tide is 1 PM to 3 PM. We always begin and end by tracing Central and Governing meridians before starting to trace the other meridians. If you begin tracing your meridians at 1 30 PM, then begin with Small Intestine.

Reasons To Trace Alone in Addition to Tracing All Meridians. Although it is best to trace all your meridians as one continuous flow, you may want to trace Small Intestine if you have some of the symptoms listed in the opening paragraph above. Consider the question “What stays with me or what goes out of me?” If unable to answer this question consider Small Intestine work. To flush a meridian, as if you are de-clogging a pipe, trace the meridian once backwards to loosen the sludge and then trace the meridian forward 3 times. Seeking Inspiration? Let Heaven Rush In

We all have moments when we feel alone and don’t know which way to turn to seek the answer we so ache to find. So, if you are feeling the need for inspiration; or are feeling anguish because you have a long standings illness that just won’t heal; or you are at a cross-roads in your life where the next step will dramatically change the course of life’s journey; or literally or figuratively you are feeling shut-in or confined or just seem to have your mind going in continuous tight circles; or just simply are feeling lost, forlorn, alone or in despair—then it is time to connect with energies that will feed and nourish you.

Donna Eden likes to remind us that matter follows energy and that our universe is comprised of multi-dimensional intelligence. By engaging in the exercise of “Heaven Rushing In”, you are touching the sacred dimension of that higher intelligence to provide answers and guidance that is easily attainable if you just ask and open yourself to the experience. Although the exercise’s name includes the word heaven, the concept is to seek connectedness with the source, whatever that source maybe in your belief system, which is viewed as having divine energies larger than your own.

If possible, do this exercise outdoors or even better, under the stars to invite the physical and metaphysical energy fields to you. Remember that we are all part of an interconnected universe and can access that sense of oneness with practice.

The technique is as follows:

Step 1. Stand with feet hip width apart. After rubbing the palms of hands briskly together, place the palms on the front of each thigh. Feel the connection between your hands, legs and the Earth, all grounding you

Step 2. On an inhale, bring your hands together in a prayer position in front of you heart. Hold for several seconds and then exhale.

Step 3. On an inhale, extend your hands out from the sides bringing then in an arch overhead, while opening your hands, heart and arms to the heavens to allow the energy to enter. Both hands are touching the “heavens”.

Taking on Other’s “Stuff”? – Let’s “ZIP-UP”!

Have you walked into a party, train, plane, seminar, family reunion or other event and immediately felt the energy of others? While talking with a person who is angry or upset, do you feel their negative attitude deflating you and begin to feel vulnerable and sad? If you have had these experiences, your Central Meridian needs to be closed. Central Meridian begins at the pubic bone and ends behind the bottom lip. It is one of 2 meridians that surround your core and keep you strong energetically. The Governing meridian begins at the base of your tail bone, runs up the back, over the head and ends behind the top lip.

Because the Central Meridian is strongly affected by your own thoughts and feelings, it is very responsive to self-hypnosis or hypnosis. Thus when Zipping-Up, it is the perfect time to use positive affirmations. The power of closing this meridian and its impact is profound. At an ABWA presentation I did recently, I asked for 2 women volunteers who absorbed others’ energies and “stuff”. Here are some bonus suggestions. As you are doing the exercise, state an affirmation like “I am clear, centered and secure.” Trace the meridian mentally without using your hands. Protect your back from others’ energy by using a hand starting at the base of the sacrum, up the center of your back, over the head and ending at the top lip. Lock the energy in at the top lip with the imaginary key. Now the entire core is strong and less vulnerable to undue influences.
